Billiken's Grand Opening Pig Roast May 19 In Fredericksburg
It's been open since late last year, but Billiken's Smokehouse at The Chimneys is having a "Grand Opening" pig roast May 19 in downtown.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA—It's been open since late last year, but Billiken's Smokehouse at The Chimneys, 623 Caroline Street in downtown, nonetheless will have its official grand opening noon-11 p.m May 19 with live music and a pig roast.
Also featured, according to its Facebook page, will be personality Christal Blue from Thunder 104.5 radio station. The live tunes will be delivered by Whiskey Wildfire, Paul Abe and the State Streets Band, and Drive In Riot. Besides the pig, food will include samples of the eatery's signature dishes.
The business is an offshoot of Billiken's BBQ Company in Mineral, 200 Lake Front Drive. Most of the food is smoked on a grill in restaurant's backyard. There's typical barbecue fare, such as ribs, chicken, beef and, of course, pork.

As with the other eatery, Billiken's offers carry-out service and catering. The completely renovated house, which was built from 1771-73 and is on the National Register of Historic Places, certainly has served as a drawing card for the restaurant.
