The Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department has some exciting offerings coming up for March and we want you to be a part of them!
Fredericksburg Big Band Concert
This weekend the Fredericskburg Big Band will be holding a free concert at UMW in Dodd Auditorium. This concert is FREE to the public and a great opportunity to come and enjoy an afternoon of great music. Big Band is a type of musical ensemble associated with jazz and the Swing Era typically consisting of rhythm, brass, and woodwind instruments.

Summer Camp Preview
Looking for a summer camp for your child. The Parks and Recreation Department offers over 25 summer camps for children ages 3-18. We offer sports, tennis, nature, dance, arts, theatre and more! Upcoming Classes and Children's Programs
St. Paddy's Day Party - Get your green on!
A great party for children ages 2-4 held at the Dorothy Hart Community Center. Make sure you wear green and come celebrate with us and games, activities and a leprechaun craft. March 16th 10-11:15am $5 for residents and non-residents. Activity # 4010.202
For Goodness Snakes
Slither on over to the Mott's Run Nature Center to learn all about snakes. We'll meet and touch a real snake, "Pocket," our lovely snake ambassador. We'll do a craft, read a story and have a sssnack. Mott's Run Nature Center, Thurs., Mar. 8, 9:30-10:30 am, for ages 4-6 with a favorite adult, $6
Stargazing 101
Motts Run Nature Center, Fredericksburg. Adults and families (min. age 8). Get oriented to the winter night sky. Bring binoculars. $4 for everyone. May pay at event. Friday, March 16th, 7:30-8:30PM
Don't Settle, Love the Results - DSLR Photography Class
Do you have a DSLR camera that has more modes and menus than you can figure out? Would you like to learn about your camera by having fun making images and rather than being put to sleep by reading the owners manual? This class is for anyone who would like to learn more about composition, ISO, f-stops, shutter speed, white balance, and the various camera modes of their DSLR cameras. A DSLR is required for this class as well as assignments to complete between classes. Tuesdays, March 20-June 5th, 10-11:30am $60 residents and non-residents. Activity # 9000.111
