Through Rose Colored Glasses
Introducing our newest blogger, local netizen Jacalyn Stanley. Watch as she tries to figure out what the heck to do with this thing.

Why yes, I do look at the world through rose colored glasses, why do you ask?
My name is Jacalyn Stanley and I'm the newest blogger for the Fredericksburg Patch. Born prematurely, I suffer from several eye problems and have never gone a day without glasses.
The way I see it if I'm stuck with these things on my face, I might as well make them a part of me and who I am. They have become a part of my persona.

A few years ago I discovered a crazy cheap website for purchases glasses. "Great!" I think to myself. "I'm a mom with kids. Stuff gets destroyed! I can afford replacement glasses!"
With frames and lenses so cheap, I stared at my screen in disbelief. That's when I discovered lens-tinting. I'd only tinted for sunglasses, never for vanity.

Until now.
I'm a nutty girl, flitting here and there and everywhere. Always looking for the latest new adventure. Extreme couponing? Been there, done that. Dancing? Fifteen years of classical ballet, among other disciplines. Riding a unicycle? Ok, I haven't done that, but it is on my bucket list.
Through it all, I try to be a fairly cheerful person. I happen to love purple, but pink comes a close second. When I found fun purple-pink light hue for lenses, I knew I must go for it.
Do you know how fun it is to actually look through rose colored glasses? If nothing else, people will remember me for my crazy looking specs.
Other than facing the world half blind, I parent teenagers while snapping photos and writing. I've blogged since before there was a term and we all just said, "I run a website." Sometimes I sew, but typically only if it's utterly ridiculous fabrics in outrageous amounts of yardage for fairly useless clothing. I also read a lot, mostly to escape real life. I'm a fan of vampires and zombies, but I also really fly for aliens.
I studied Journalism until I married a Marine, then we traveled around the country. Moving twelve times in seventeen years was quite the unplanned adventure. Along the way we picked up a chihuahua and a couple of kids in a cabbage patch, the only feasable explaination why I'm so young yet have teenagers.
We returned to Fredericksburg, my home town, and I'm loving it. I love the history, the people, and the adventure.
What will I write about on this blog? Whatever it is, I'm sure it'll be rosy.
Or thorny. Every rose has its thorns...
