Bullet Pierces Apartment Window, Missing Sleeping Woman: Police

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Residents heard multiple gunshots early Saturday morning in an area just off Gordon W. Shelton Boulevard in Fredericksburg, with one of the bullets entering a woman's apartment window while she was sleeping, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department. No one inside the apartment was harmed.

Fredericksburg police officers set up a perimeter around the apartment complex in the 1100 block of Dunes Street around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14 and began an investigation. City detectives also responded to the gunshots and are conducting an inquiry.

That same day, a double shooting took place on the other side of town. A Fredericksburg man was killed in a shooting inside an apartment in the 1200 block of Kenmore Avenue. At just after 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, police received a call of gunshots fired inside the apartment. The other victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he received medical attention and was released Sunday morning.
