FREDERICKSBURG, VA — It's that time of year to head out with your family and drive by all of the dazzling holiday lights displays. Every year, we share a guide to holiday displays around the Fredericksburg area.

Below are the submissions we've received by from readers. These residents go all out with handmade displays, dazzling lights and sometimes synchronized shows.

We'll continue to add to this list through Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.

1000 Caroline Street

"This year, the entire 1000 Caroline Street block was lit up by the fine folks at Elf Pros," Bekah Flemer told Patch. "It's a lovely sight to see downtown!"

"Our lights are on from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. nightly through New Year's Eve. Unfortunately, rain is not our friend with such a large display so viewing is best on dry nights," Jackie Silvrants told Patch. "This year we have over 87 wood cutouts, 108 wire frame animals, 10 blow ups , music and 4,000+ lights. We have a Santa mailbox where children will receive a letter back from Santa if a return address is provided. We are collecting for Toys for Tots and the Virginia German Shepherd Rescue."

This light show runs nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., except for in rainy conditions.

"This year there are just over 41,000 lights, dancing trees, laser projectors, a snowland penguin pond, shooting stars, falling snow lights, a 25 foot gnome, and enough candy canes to feed all of Santa's elves and so much more," Paula Patrick told Patch.

620 Hartwood Road

This display starts at 6 p.m. each night. It runs until 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. "You can enjoy Sesame Street display, over 18+ inflatables, little toy land, Charlie Brown area and candy land, along with many other decorations," the Kimble family said. "We also will be playing favorite Christmas movies on a projector as you drive by and watch all the lights twinkle to sounds of music." Donations will be accepted to support Bobbie's Pitbull Rescue, the Stafford Animal Shelter, and One By One Death Row Dog Rescue.

"My house is a corner lot that uses the side of the house along with the front," Kimberli Stewart told Patch. "The display consists of multiple blow ups , lighted animals, nativity, lighted trees, musical snowmen, a singing reindeer and a tree made of lights. The house has lights outlining the windows and garage along with icicle lights. The deck is also lighted with a large blow up Santa."

This home's lights are synchronized with music in a display that starts every 15 minutes.

This display includes 21,000 lights, a 20-foot Christmas tree, and a 15-foot Santa. The display is on from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night.
