Come Steal Me: Truck With Key In Ignition Stolen In Fredericksburg
An unlocked truck with the key in the ignition was stolen last weekend in Fredericksburg: Monday's crime roundup for the city.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Police departments have all manner of well-meaning tips regarding safety and theft avoidance. Always lock your vehicle, don't leave valuables in it and on and on. Well, here's one pretty shrewd tip about how to avoid having your vehicle stolen: Never leave your unlocked vehicle unattended with the key in the ignition.
Alas, that's what was was reported to Fredericksburg Police around 8 a.m. Saturday. A man said an unknown person stole his white 2014 Ram 1500 truck that was left unattended with the key in the ignition in the 200 block of Hillcrest Drive. It has Virginia plates XZZ-1861. Attempted Larceny from Building:
Fredericksburg Christian Academy, 2231 Jefferson Davis Highway, 8/19, 2:30 a.m. An employee
reported that video surveillance shows two unknown males attempted to remove the AC Unit
from the building. The investigation is ongoing
Motor Vehicle Theft:
3000 block Magnolia Glen, 8/19, 9:00 a.m. A citizen reported that an unknown person stole his
unlocked silver 2008 Toyota Tundra bearing Virginia license plate WVC 2828. The truck has
several stickers on the rear window, including a Carolina Panthers logo, South Carolina
Gamecocks logo, Marine Corp sticker, and Reebock Spartan sticker. No suspects or witnesses at
this time.

Larceny:
Castiglia’s Italian Resturant, 324 William Street, 8/19, 1:50 p.m. A City resident reported that an
unknown person stole her purse. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
