Stafford County Sheriff's deputy arrested a Chesterfield man in connection to a crash that occurred early Saturday near Fredericksburg.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 23-year-old Chesterfield man faces multiple charges, including DUI, after crashing his Mazda in the Fredericksburg area early Saturday morning.

Stafford County Sheriff's Deputy N.J. Amato responded around 12:50 a.m. for the report of a single-vehicle crash in the area of Kings Highway and Naomi Road, according to reports. Investigating the scene, Amato determined that a Mazda had left the roadway and ended up in a ditch. No one was reported injured.

The vehicle's driver told Amato that he had just come from his home, which was "less than a mile" away, according to the police report. However, the deputy ascertained that wasn't the case. The man actually resides in Chesterfield.
