Dead Whispers Haunted House a Cut Above in Fredericksburg

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — OK, you have your relatively standard "haunted house" gimmick. Some of the Halloween attractions are relatively scary while others are relatively predictable.

But then there's this one.

This ain't your local Jaycees haunted house.

No, this one's put on by Fredericksburg-based professional makeup artists who have peddled their special-effects talents to a wide array of Hollywood blockbusters.

It's the DTFX Lab's Dead Whispers Haunted Attraction, and it's being held 7-11 p.m. Thursday-Monday at the Village at Towne Centre, 1 Town Centre Boulevard.

Tickets are $12, and the "haunted house" is across from Arhaus Furniture and next to Books-A-Million.

This is the real deal, with professional actors, professional fright scenes, professional scripts and professional surprises.

As the website describes the attraction: "Dead Whispers" has been one of Virginia's most talked about Haunted Attractions. With live actors to make you believe you're in a Horror Movie & many detailed haunted rooms, It is the most creative and scary haunted Attraction with Ghosts and Creatures at every corner."
