Dunkin' Awards $2,500 Scholarships To 5 Fredericksburg Area Students

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Dunkin' franchises awarded $2,500 scholarships to five students in the Fredericksburg area during a recent awards ceremony.

In total, the Dunkin' Regional Scholarship Program awarded scholarships to 40 students from around the D.C. area. The scholarships total $100,000 for students from D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

The scholarship winners were selected from a pool of 1,000 applicants. Dunkin' representatives said the winners were chosen based on their academic record, leadership, and commitment to their school and their community.

Here are the five winners from the Fredericksburg area:

• Kellina Brennan from Riverbend High School in Fredericksburg
  • Brennan is a part of the Yale University Class of 2026
• Marcus Muntean from Chancellor High School
  
  • Muntean is a part of the University of Virginia Class of 2026
• Olivia Jung from Colonial Forge High School
  • Jung is a part of the Cornell University Class of 2026
• Rayna Ibrahim from Colonial Forge High School
  • Ibrahim is part of the Germanna Community College Class of 2023
• Kaitlyn Williams from Mountain View High School
  • Williams is part of the Duke University Class of 2026

Maria Icaza is a D.C. area Dunkin' franchisee. "On behalf of my fellow DMV-area franchisees, we feel honored to award these 40 commendable students with the 2022 Dunkin’ DMV Regional Scholarships,” Icaza said in a news release. “We seek to further students’ educational goals as a part of our commitment to support our local communities beyond our restaurant doors.”

Dunkin' franchisees launched the scholarship program in the spring of 2022 through a partnership with Scholarship America.
