Easter Weekend 2022: What's Open, Closed Around Fredericksbrug

Since Easter falls on a Sunday, most government facilities do not change their hours. Some grocers in Fredericksburg will be closed, though.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Whether you celebrate the Christian holidays of Easter and Good Friday, or the Jewish holiday of Passover, the holidays will overlap during the weekend of April 15-17. As the Easter holiday falls on a Sunday, closures may be limited.

In Stafford County, some government buildings will be closed on Good Friday, April 15.

  • Stafford County Government offices will be closed on Friday.
  • The landfill will be open, but the administrative office will be closed on Friday.
  • Circuit and district courts will be open, but the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court will be closed on Friday.
  • Outdoor parks will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday.

  • Regional Landfill and Recycling Center: Closed
  • Fredericksburg libraries: Closed
  • Dorothy Hart Community Center: Closed
  • Fredericksburg Area Museum: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Spotsylvania Town Centre: Closed

Here is the status of several grocery store hours on Sunday, April 17:

  • Target: Closed
  • Harris Teeter: Open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Giant: Open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Aldi: Closed
  • Lidl: Open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Wegmans: Open from 6 a.m. to midnight
