EDA Approves $11,500 in JumpStart Grants

The Fredericksburg Economic Development Authority recently approved three JumpStart matching grants that totaled $11,500 for two local businesses and one nonprofit.

At its Aug. 13 meeting, the EDA approved:

■ A $10,000 grant for the rooftop dining deck at the planned Vivify Burger &
Lounge restaurant, 309 William St. scheduled to open in early 2013.
■ A $1,000 arts grant to the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center
for “A Woven Community” exhibition this fall.
■ A $500 grant to Hope House for the November 5-14 “Trees of Hope” display at
the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center.

The EDA receives its revenues through the interest proceeds from issuing bonds ans that's where the money comes from for the grants program.
