Fatal Dale City Motorcycle Crash Ends In More Charges For Driver
Katrina Nicole Thomas faces other charges, including possession of marijuana, for her role in the Aug. 11 crash that killed a Maryland man.
DALE CITY, VA — A woman is facing multiple charges, including aggravated involuntary manslaughter, for her involvement in a Sunday crash that left a motorcycle driver dead. Katrina Nicole Thomas, 26, of Townes Place, originally faced a driving while intoxicated charge following the crash that killed 46-year-old John Jon Lee.
Lee was killed early Sunday morning when the motorcycle he was driving was struck by a 2018 Toyota driven by Thomas. Lee, of Rockville, Md., was driving a 2015 Ducati motorcycle and traveling westbound on Dale Boulevard near Forestdale Avenue. Thomas was also traveling westbound when her vehicle “made contact with the motorcycle,” InsideNoVA reported, causing both vehicles to travel over the center median of Dale Boulevard.
Both the motorcycle and the car struck two separate trees before coming to rest in the eastbound lanes, police said. Lee was thrown from his motorcycle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
