Fatal Hit And Run Reported In Spotsylvania, Driver Sought: Police
A pickup truck hit two pedestrians in Spotsylvania on Tuesday, killing one of them, police said. Authorities are looking for the driver.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — A pickup truck hit two pedestrians in Spotsylvania County on Tuesday morning, Virginia State Police officials said. Authorities are still looking for the driver.
One of the pedestrians, 36-year-old Jon Kern, died at the scene of the crash. The other pedestrian, a 36-year-old woman suffered minor injuries from the crash and received medical attention at the scene.
Police described the vehicle that hit the pair as a red pickup truck. Authorities did not have any specific information about the make or model. The truck should have damage along the passenger side.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday in the 4400 block of Lafayette Boulevard, police said. The pedestrians were walking eastbound when the truck hit them from behind. The victims were walking along the far right lane, as there is no sidewalk in the area.
The driver of the truck did not stop at the scene.
