Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation In Spotsylvania: Police

Virginia State Police officials said they are still investigating a motorcycle crash that left one man dead on Friday evening.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — State police officials are still investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Courthouse Road in Spotsylvania County on Friday evening.

Police said the crash killed a motorcycle rider, who they identified as 33-year-old Albert P. Gregory III. He died at the scene, according to authorities.

Virginia State Police have not completely identified the events that led to the crash. Investigators noted that speed is considered a factor.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Friday on Courthouse Road, near Robert E. Lee Drive. Gregory was riding his 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound when it crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with a northbound Chevrolet Suburban.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 26-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries in the crash. She received treatment at the scene.
