First Friday Brush Strokes Gallery Reception Features "Life Illuminated" by Lynn Abbot

Following the thread of light, Lynn Abbott’s June Featured Exhibit at Brush Strokes Gallery not only capures simple moments of daily life, but also presents visual metaphors for our distinctly human journey. The only daughter of an oceanographer, Abbot gravitates to compositions that emphasize light and water. but her fascination with both runs deeper than childhood memories. She explains, “As a cancer survivor, I’m drawn to water and light because, for me, each reflects hope and a full life.” An award-winning artist and freelance writer, Abbott exhibits her work in international and national venues as well as several regional galleries. “Life Illuminated” will run from June 1-June 28 at Brush Strokes Gallery, 824 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg.
