Fredericksburg City Public Schools Make Jan. 28 Schedule Decision
Fredericksburg City Public Schools decides whether schools and offices were going to remain closed on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — All Fredericksburg City schools and facilities will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 28, due to road, parking lot, and sidewalk conditions following last weekend's winter storm. Essential employees will only report following supervisor guidance.
Fredericksburg City Council Work Session scheduled for Tuesday night has been cancelled.
Circuit Court will operate on a normal schedule. General District Clout, as well as Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court are closed. Trash and recycling will be canceled.
The Stafford Landfill and Belman Road Recycling Center will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m.. Curbside trash and recycling collections for Tuesday have been cancelled.

Due to icy road conditions from Winter Storm Fern, FXBGO! will only be running Routes 10, 11, 13, 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and routes 20, 21, 22, 31, 32, and 33 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Routes 12, 15, 23, 30, and the VF1 will not operate. Central will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- Stop #561 - Target on South Gateway Drive (Route 21)
- Stop #514 - Crescent Boulevard| Allatoona Lane (Route 22)
- Stop #515 - Crescent Boulevard | Pilot Knob Loop (Route 22)
- Stop #516 - Crescent Boulevard | Jason Lane (Route 22)
- Stop #517 - Foreston Village Center Weis (Route 22)
- Stop #223 - Keswick Apartments (Route 32)
Important Safety Tips:
Fredericksburg City wants to encourage everyone to practice safe shoveling techniques.
- Dress warmly, making sure to cover your head, fingers and toes
- Stay hydrated, but avoid heavy meals right before or after shoveling
- Move only small amounts of snow with each pass of the shovel
- Push the snow (DO NOT lift the snow)
- Take frequent breaks
- Stop shoveling entirely if you feel exhausted
- Make sure you take care of your neighbors if they are unable to shovel near their occupancy
