Fredericksburg converted the LOVE sign in Hurkamp Park to honor front-line workers who are protecting and caring for the community.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The City of Fredericksburg converted the LOVE sign in Hurkamp Park to honor front-line workers who are protecting and caring for the community during the coronavirus crisis. Crews from Fastsigns of Fredericksburg on Wednesday installed temporary signs over the LOVE sign with images of doctors, nurses, firefighters, medics, police officers, custodians and servers.
The new signs will be up for the next few months. Blue lights have been installed to showcase the sign at night. Hurkamp Park is located at Prince Edward and William streets in downtown Fredericksburg.
The LOVE sign is part of the Virginia LOVEworks campaign.

The health district now has three coronavirus outbreaks. The first outbreak was reported last week when seven employees at the Aldi grocery store in the Four Mile Fork area of Spotsylvania County tested positive for the coronavirus.
The other two outbreaks in the health district are in long-term care facilities.
