Halloween

We should strive to help those in need in whatever way we can.

Anyone who lives in America or anywhere in the West, is familiar with Halloween. While Halloween seems harmless and friendly on the surface, it has a dark background which is rooted in “shirk,” (asscoiating partners with God-the biggest sin in Islam). Halloween has pagan roots and was celebrated by the Celtics over 2000 years ago. The Celts believed that on Halloween, the dead roamed free and had the power to tell people their fortunes. Therefore, they left food and wine in their homes as “offerings” to the dead. By wearing masks and ghoulish disguise, people believed they would avoid evil spirits.

As Ahmadi Muslims, we don’t believe that dead can come back to life or have any power over us. This goes against the idea of unity of God in Islam.

Every year in America a lot of money is wasted to buy Halloween costumes and many other things just to decorate the homes. Children knock on people's houses for candies which is not even healthy for them.
