Hit-And-Walk Supect Arrested in Stafford: Police
The man walked away from a vehicle accident and left his cousin to spin a false yarn, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD, VA — A man inexplicably walked away from a traffic accident early Sunday morning, leaving his cousin to spin a yarn to an officer as to what happened. Namely, the officer asked, how did the silver Nissan wind up on a median and why were there uprooted shrubs and a broken McDonald's entrance sign at the scene at 2862 Jefferson Davis Highway?
According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, the man replied that his cousin, the driver, had been cut off by another vehicle, thus forcing the Nissan onto the median.
The officer told him that didn't sound plausible, and the man agreed, after which he made a phone call to his cousin, who returned to the scene and admitted he was the only occupant of the Nissan. He smelled of alcohol and a personal search found a straw with what appeared to be cocaine on it.
