Long-Term Parking Coming To An End In VDOT Park & Ride Lots
According to reports, residents will no longer be allowed to store their vehicles in Park & Ride lots throughout the Fredericksburg area.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Virginia Department of Transportation is warning area motorists to find a new home for their extra cars, boats, trailers and other vehicles if currently stored in a Fredericksburg-area Park & Ride lot, according to a report.
Crews will be posting regulatory signs in all lots through October, warning motorists that vehicles left in the lots longer than 10 consecutive days will be tagged for the Virginia State Police and then towed away at the owner’s expense, the Free Lance-Star reports.
In September, transportation officials issued a news release stating the signs will be installed to address an increasing number of vehicles, boats and trailers that are being abandoned or left unattended in the lot for an extended period of time.

The lots were established to support ridesharing and use of mass transit. To encourage this, officials want as many spaces as possible to be available for that purpose.
Crews will install signs at the Staffordboro Boulevard lot near Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) in Stafford County. Workers will then move south to install the signage at the other Park & Ride lots in Stafford, Spotsylvania County and Caroline County.
