Man Charged With Sexually Battery of 11-Year-Old Child

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office charged a 77-year-old man with three counts of animate object sexual penetration and two counts of aggravated sexual battery on an 11-year-old girl.

Jimmie W. Rodgers, of Piney Branch Road, remains in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Capt. Mike Harvey said Detective Pattye Harper started the investigation on Aug. 16 after the victim's father found inappropriate photographs of his daughter in Rodgers' bedroom. The alleged crimes were reported to have taken place in April and through August, Harvey said.
