Meet Eddie Garcia, New Candidate and Future DC Leader & Lawmaker

At this time, there are five Republican candidates who will be running for the office of Virginia's U.S. Senator in this election and of these five candidates, there is one man who stands out among them as a true representative of the people and a leader among his peers, and that man is Eddie Garcia.

Eddie Garcia is young and intelligent, but more importantly, he listens and he cares for the people that he is entrusted to support and protect. He comes from humble origins, a working class community in a small country town in southern Texas, growing up along the Mexican border. Because of this, Eddie has a direct knowledge of the dangers and suffering which comes from an unsecured border, and not just from the protected specialty tours given to visiting politicians.

Eddie Garcia comes from four-generations of Army veterans, joining at the age 17 and he has had an exemplary career in the military, serving as a 22-year Army veteran. During his service, he completed six combat deployments, three in Iraq and three in Afghanistan. He was also an essential member of the special operations community for 14 years, during which time he commanded paratroopers in the 82nd Airborne Division.

Following his active-duty service, Eddie spent five years serving as a national security advisor and legislative liaison, working closely with policy experts, legislators, and the Pentagon to pass legislation that enhances national security, supports Gold Star families and protects the welfare of veterans. He is also the Owner/Founder of the MIL-VETS Mobile Integration App, which services veterans, military spouses and veteran-business owners.

Eddie holds academic degrees in Information Technology, Legislative Affairs and Business Administration. He is active in both community and social organizations and is a devoted husband to his wife, Veronica and loving father to his two daughters, Angelina and Aaliyah. Yet with all these degrees, he has rural American roots; his father was a ranch hand and his mother was a traveling nurse. His grandfather was instrumental in encouraging Eddie to learn to advance himself.

Eddie considers himself a "Garcia Republican", whom he describes to be a blue-collar, no-collar working family, who struggles every day to lift themselves up while laboring to achieve the American dream; a dream which Eddie is concerned is being squandered away from its citizens by government. Eddie believes that policies should be put in place to strengthen the family, and in doing this, we strengthen our communities, our Commonwealth, and our nation.

For Eddie Garcia, he believes in love of God, love of family, love of neighbors, and love for our country, where we were taught that people mattered. Eddie believes in a government that will work for and is answerable to its citizens, a school system that will focus on the academic education of our children, the sanctity of life, and an economy where workers are paid well and do not struggle with higher taxes. To Eddie Garcia, this is the American dream that we could all share in.

And in the sharing of this dream, we can then find the means to restore public trust in our institutions, find political respect in our discourse, renew pride in our national destiny, and to revive our belief in the ideal that we as a nation will truly have a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
