The shooting occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday in the 200 block of Streamview Drive, authorities said. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies attempted life-saving care before an ambulance arrived, but Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Detectives worked diligently to collect evidence, talk to witnesses, and identify the shooter. They also discovered the shooter and victim were known to each other," the sheriff's office said. "Ever since the shooting, detectives have been executing search warrants, collecting evidence, and even traveled to both Maryland and Washington D.C. in attempts to locate the shooter."
Wright was taken into custody on Friday morning. The sheriff's office said he could face additional charges in the future.
