New Year's Eve 2016: Downtown 31 Finale in Fredericksburg
The free event is at Riverfront Park and Market Square from 5-9 p.m. and will include live music and all manner of activities for kids.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — If you're looking for something cool to do on New Year's Eve well before counting down to the end of 2016 and the arrival of its successor, you might want to check out the downtown area.
That's where the Downtown 31 Finale New Year's Event will be held from 5-9 p.m. at Riverfront Park (600 Sophia Street) and Market Square (907 Princess Anne Street).
Not only is it free, it also will include a wide variety of live music, dancing, juggling and manner of kids' activities.

To top it off, organizers plan a ping pong drop at exactly 9 p.m. Thousands of balls will drop, and of them, 100 will have lucky numbers that'll warrant a prize.
