One Injured After Tractor-Trailer Crash Shuts Down I-95 Lanes In Spotsylvania: Police

I-95 southbound was shut down on Friday morning after a tractor-trailer ran off the roadway and hit several trees, police said.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — The southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were shut down in Spotsylvania County on Friday morning. Police said a tractor-trailer ran off the roadway and crashed into several trees.

The crash occurred around 9 a.m. on Friday. At that time, police responded to the scene at mile marker 122, south of exit 126.

Police said a tractor-trailer was travelling southbound when it ran off the roadway. The vehicle collided with several trees before stopping.

Virginia State Police said there was one serious injury from the crash. No other vehicles were involved or damaged, police said.

The interstate was fully reopened by 10:15 a.m., police said.

The Virginia Department of Transportation said drivers could expect lingering delays. The crash caused a 7-mile backup on the southbound lanes of I-95.
