Pedestrian Fatally Hit By Truck On Fredericksburg Road

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A man died Saturday morning when he was hit by a truck while walking on a Fredericksburg road, authorities said.

According to Fredericksburg police, 26-year-old Joe Anthony Palacios was walking eastbound on Plank Road around 6:20 a.m. when he was struck by the truck. He suffered severe injuries in the crash, police said.

Palacios was taken to the nearest hospital, where he died shortly before 10:45 a.m.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said the driver was not impaired and was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
