Police Pursuits Lead To Arrests In Stafford County: Sheriff
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office said that two separate police pursuits on Sunday and Monday led to arrests.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Two people were arrested after separate police pursuits in Stafford County on Sunday, Sept. 5 and Monday, Sept. 6. One pursuit began after a reported breaking and entering, while the other started after an attempted traffic stop, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
On Sunday, Sept. 5 around 3 a.m., Stafford County deputies received a report of a break-in at TJ's car wash on Garrisonville Road. Witnesses told police that a man was using a crow bar to break into the business's payment machine.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the suspect entered a Toyota Corolla and fled the scene. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect continued to flee, according to the sheriff's office.

"The suspect drove at a high rate of speed westbound on Garrisonville Road before turning onto Dunn Drive and then Worth Avenue," the sheriff's office wrote in a report. "The suspect disregarded several stop signs before turning right onto Onville Road."
The vehicle pursuit ended after the suspect turned onto Evans Lane, which is a dead end. Authorities claimed that the suspect attempted to make a U-turn at the end of the street, but a deputy used his police vehicle to hit the Toyota Corolla, ending the chase.

The sheriff's office said that a money box was stolen from TJ's car wash and thrown from the Toyota Corolla during the pursuit. The box was later returned to the business, according to police.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jason Razawich. He is charged with felony eluding, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, vandalism, possession of burglary tools and petit larceny.
Another police pursuit occurred in Stafford County around 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 6. A Stafford County deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding on Warrenton Road.
When the deputy asked the driver for his license and registration, the driver said he did not have them, according to the sheriff's office. The driver then fled the scene in his car, police said.
"At the intersection, the driver ran a red light, gaining the attention of a Virginia State Police trooper," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook. "The trooper and the deputy pursued the vehicle as it made a U-turn back onto northbound Warrenton Road."

The deputy and the trooper reported losing sight of the fleeing car on Storck Road. Later in the day, other Virginia State troopers located and stopped the vehicle near Mountain View Road, police said.
The driver was identified as William Hampton, a Stafford resident. He is charged with felony eluding, driving on a revoked license, and reckless driving. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
