Rappahannock River Inspires Seafood-Beer Infusion At New City Brewery

The Port Oysteria and Brewery's seafood-beer menu was inspired by the Rappahannock River, according to reports.

FREDERIKCSBURG, VA — Joel Griffin, one of the five entrepreneurs/owners of newly opened The Port Oysteria and Brewery, credits the Rappahannock River as inspiration for the restaurant's seafood menu, according to reports.

"We are drawing inspiration from the region and its rich fishing heritage, we will experiment with unique dishes, several infused with our Master Brewer’s artisanal craft beers,” Joel Griffin, one of the owner/entrepreneurs, told Fredericksburg Business News. Kevin Harkins, Carrick Longley, Kevin Dillard, and Dan Singh are The Port's other owners.

Working with local distilleries, the restaurant is able to offer 10 beer types, and such "infused" seafood dishes as beer-battered fish and chips and bourbon-glazed salmon, Griffins said, according to the business news.
