Rescue Me: Mack And Luella Are Good Dogs And Better Friends
Mack and Luella, two dogs available for adoption at the Fredericksburg SPCA, are looking for a home that will accept love from both of them.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Luella and Mack are best friends, but they would love to join a whole family! The dogs are 1 year old and 5 years old respectively, and they are available for adoption now at the Fredericksburg SPCA.
Luella, who has one blue eye and one brown eye, and Mack became inseparable during their time together at the shelter. Now, they are looking to find a forever home that will accept them both.
"These two make an excellent pair and do everything together - including learning new tricks," the Fredericksburg SPCA said. "They already know 'sit' and are eager to learn more. Our Behavior Department loves to take them out in our play yard to work on training because they are so smart and eager to please."

The SPCA also offered a few tips for dog owners. Halloween is this Sunday, and while the day can be exciting for people, it can be stressful for their pups.
"Keep dogs and cats inside and away from the opening and closing front door, keep them away from treats, especially chocolate, and a reminder that if your pet hasn't been trained to wear costumes, it is an unnatural and stressful occurrence for them," the SPCA said. "If you have a dog who is super reactive to people coming to the door, keep them in a separate room with something to busy their mind like a frozen peanut butter Kong or puzzle toy."
For anyone who needs help training their dog, the SPCA offers a free 30-minute consultation with their canine training and behavior specialist. More information is available on their website.
