Rescue Me: Sally The Cat Just Wants To Get Cozy

Sally is a 1-year-old cat who is now available for adoption through the Fredericksburg SPCA. This shy girl is looking for a home.

Sally is a cat who is just looking to chill. She is 1 year old, and has not exactly thrived in the shelter environment. She has done much better in a foster home where she gets to interact with other cats and receive the love and affection she deserves.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Sally is an adoptable cat at the Fredericksburg SPCA who needs a partner in crime. Her special skills include being adorable, taking chin scratches like a champ, and other cat-related activities.

Sally is 1 year old, but she already knows what she's about. She's looking for treats, feline and human and friends, and a perch near a window where she can take in (and monitor) the local wildlife.

"We swear Sally thinks she is part turtle, but that might be our fault for providing her with the fluffiest bed-cave ever," the Fredericksburg SPCA said. "Sally had a hard time adjusting to the loud, chaotic shelter, so her bed was a hideaway."

However, when Sally was placed with a foster family outside of the shelter, she was able to truly come out of her shell.

"Sally's personality really began to shine," the SPCA said. "She loves her feline friends. We're not sure if she is trying to find 3 other turtle friends and a rat to form an unstoppable crime-fighting group, but if you are interested in adding a cat to an already feline-friendly home, Sally is your gal."

Still, Sally is a bit on the shy side. Unfortunately, timid cats like Sally often have longer stays at the shelter.

"Shy cats tend to get looked over for adoption, but we promise they are one of the most loyal relationships that you can develop," the SPCA said. "A little love and patience while they get acclimated are usually all it takes! Add in some chin scratches and treats, and you have yourself a best friend for life."
