Rescue Me: Travel And Duffle Are A Pair Of 'Chonky Boys'

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — What's better than one chunky and loving cat? Two chunky and loving cats.

Travel and Duffle are a bonded pair of 7-year-old cats who are available for adoption now at the Fredericksburg SPCA. Since they would both need to go to the same home, the shelter will allow the cats' new family to pay the adoption fee for one cat and have the fee waived for the second.

"Travel and Duffle are two brothers who are looking to hand in their retirement papers together," the Fredericksburg SPCA said. "At 7 years old, they've decided it's time to settle down and live that good chonky-boy life of loafing in a morning sunbeam until it's time for soft brushings! Not only do they have a deep love for one another, but they are also looking to bond with a person who will love them back."

To the SPCA's dismay, both of the cats were declawed in their younger days. They said that this procedure can make cats like Travel and Duffle a bit less active.

"The Fredericksburg SPCA does not support declawing for non-medical purposes as it is a cruel, painful, and outdated practice," the SPCA said. "When cats come into our care already declawed, we make sure to do our best to assess for any chronic pain or issues that may arise and treat them accordingly in order to give them a comfortable life."
