Reward Increased in Highway Sexual Assault in Stafford: Police

$2,500 for information leading the arrest of Hispanic man who hit victim's car, dragged her into a ditch and sexually assaulted her.

STAFFORD, VA — Police have increased the award to $2,500 for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the man who sexually assaulted a young woman late last month along Route 3 (Kings Highway) in Stafford, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

The public is asked to take a second look at the composite drawing of the suspect (above) and the plaid shirt he left at the scene (second photo).

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man about 30 years old, about 5-9, weighing between 170-180 pounds with black hair and a short black beard. He was wearing light blue jeans and a sleeveless white tank top under the plaid shirt.

He spoke Spanish and broken English, and was driving a dark SUV.

The young woman was pulled from her vehicle following an early morning accident Oct. 31, dragged into a nearby ditch by the other driver and sexually assaulted for two hours in the area of Kings Highway and Sherwood Forest Farm Road, according to police.

Following the assault, the woman the victim walked back to her vehicle and called 911 from her cell phone but a deputy had just arrived at the scene.

There may be orange paint transfer on the suspect's vehicle and damage to the front quarter panel on the passenger side. Anyone with information is urged to call (540) 658-4400.
