Scarecrows Invade Downtown Fredericksburg In October

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Beware the scarecrow? Nah. More like behold the scarecrow. That'll be one of themes this month in downtown, where for the third consecutive year, scarecrows will be prominently displayed in participating merchants' front shop windows and front restaurant windows.

Beginning Friday, you can cast your ballot for your favorite straw man — or woman — in four categories: funniest, most historic, best use of business theme and spookiest.
