16-Year-Old Wanted In Connection With Fatal Fredericksburg Shooting: Police
Police have released photos of a 16-year-old boy who is wanted for murder after a fatal shooting in Fredericksburg last month.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A pair of teenage homicide suspects are still at large after shooting and killing another teen in Fredericksburg last month, according to authorities. On Friday, the Fredericksburg Police Department released information about the 16-year-old suspect for the first time.
On March 26, Jasiah Smith was shot on Chadwick Court in Fredericksburg. First responders took him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Through their investigation, members of the Fredericksburg Police Department identified two people responsible for the shooting. Police officers have been unable to locate either suspect.

Earlier this month, authorities publicly identified 19-year-old Aaron Carter as a suspect. He is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Initially, authorities did not name the second suspect, a 16-year-old, who is charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Police departments in Virginia typically avoid identifying juveniles accused of crimes due to a state law that protects their identities, except in extenuating circumstances. On Friday, the police department identified the 16-year-old suspect as Lorenzo Brooks. He is still at large.

Authorities said Brooks is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds.

"Detectives are actively searching for both suspects," the police department said. "They are considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach them, and call local law enforcement immediately if you see them."
