Senior Move Managers and Real Estate Agents are like peanut butter and jelly...they just go together!

About a month ago, I received a call from Sandy, a Real Estate agent , who needed my help.

She had been to a prospective client’s home 3 times in the last 3 months, and the client was still hemming and hawing about putting the house on the market. Mr. Good, who had lived in his home for well over 30 years wanted to sell but had many reasons for staying put.

“What will I do with all of this stuff?”

“My children work and can only help me on the weekends”

“How can I do all of these things when I can barely walk up the steps?”

“Who is going to want these things? I can’t bear to throw any away”

After listening to Mr. Good’s objections for the third time, Sandy finally responded by handing him my business card, and assured him that we could help.” I wish I had done that at the beginning” she stated “I could have had that listing much sooner!”

I arrived at Mr. Goods home the next day and for several days, we sorted through belongings, identified what would go to family and friends, what would be donated and what would be sold. Sandy had given Mr. Good a long list of things that needed to be done to the house so that he would be able to get the price he wanted. This list included painting the two upstairs bedrooms, changing the mirror above the double sink in the bathroom, grouting around the bathtub and a dozen assorted lawn chores. Of course, Smooth Transitions was able to do all of these things and Mr. Good was able to put his home on the Real Estate Market.

With one phone call, Sandy was able to address the clients concerns, provide a referral to assist with those concerns, get the home ready for sale and get a listing.

Mr. Good and I are very glad that Sandy listened. I bet Sandy is too!
