Shattered Window Begats Bigger Crime — Or Not — in Fredericksburg
One woman in Fredericksburg had her vehicle's window shattered and her purse stolen. Another victim had something else stolen.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — OK, it's one thing to have your passenger-side window shattered and then have your purse stolen in the 200 block of Maple Court, as was the case in an incident reported to Fredericksburg Police around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. It's quite another thing to, well, here's the deal:
When police arrived at the scene to investigate the shattered window and purse theft, a second victim wandered over and told the cops someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and stolen. . . Robbery
1000 block Black Oak Court, 9/20, 5:41 a.m. A taxi cab driver reported that two unknown males
entered his taxi cab, threatened him with a knife, and robbed him. The suspects then exited the
vehicle and ran towards the tree line. The suspects are described as two black males, both wearing
hooded sweatshirts. Detectives were called out to investigate and a Stafford County Sheriff’s
Office K-9 Handler responded to conduct a track. The investigation is ongoing.

Attempted Breaking and Entering
200 block George Street, 9/19, 6:45 a.m. A City resident reported that it appeared an unknown
person had damaged the front door of a residence. A patrol officer responded and confirmed that
an unknown person attempted to force open the door. No entry made and the home owner
confirmed no items were missing. The investigation is ongoing.
Vandalism of Motor Vehicle
1200 block Townsend Boulevard, 9/19, 6:30 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown
person shattered one of his vehicle’s windows. No items were missing. No suspects or witnesses at
this time.
Larceny – Theft from Motor Vehicle
1000 block Bakersfield Lane, 9/19, 9:45 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person
stole her wallet containing credit cards and $50 cash from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or
witnesses at this time.
Vehicle Tampering
600 block Virginia Avenue, 9/19, 8:30 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person
entered her unlocked vehicle and went through items in her vehicle. No items were missing. No
suspects or witnesses at this time.
