Sketch of Fredericksburg Homicide Suspect Released

The Fredericksburg Police Department has released a composite sketch of a possible suspect in the murder of Armando Escobar, whose body was found in a tent at a homeless camp behind Central Park Townhomes on July 25.

Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said Escobar was lived at the homeless camp with a number of other Hispanic men and the area was well known to the Hispanic community in the Bragg Hill area as "La Montana." She said the homeless people who lived at the homeless camp were self-sufficient and did not rely on the services other local agencies.

The suspect is a Hispanic male in his early 50s, approximately 5-foot-4 and with dark skin that appears sun weathered.

"It is believed that he usually wears a baseball cap and he speaks limited English," Bledsoe said.
