Social Services Office Closes Temporarily For Deep Cleaning
Fredericksburg temporarily closed its Social Services office after a RAHD employee tested positive for the coronavirus.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The city of Fredericksburg temporarily closed its Social Services office after the Rappahannock Area Health District office confirmed one of its employees tested positive for the new coronavirus, or COVID-19.
The employee was not assigned to the Fredericksburg office, but out of an abundance of caution, the city said it is closing the building for deep cleaning in accordance with the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention recommendations.
The Rappahannock Area Health Department is working through its contact tracing procedure. At this time, it is not believed that city staff have been exposed. The city anticipates reopening the building on Friday.

The Rappahannock Area Health District suspended in-person clinical services Monday due to a health district staff member testing positive for the coronavirus. The health district will not be offering in-person clinical services through Thursday, May 28 due to its reduced staffing levels.RAHD has offices in Caroline, King George, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania and Stafford.

For routine inquiries and non-emergency matters at the Fredericksburg Social Services office, callers may contact the Social Services Department at 540 372-1032 to leave a message. Messages left will be checked frequently. The public may also contact their individual worker by email.
During normal business hours, call 540-940-2401 for emergency needs. After business hours, people should call 800-552-7096 for the Child Protective Services Hotline or 888-832-3858 for the Adult Protective Services Hotline.
