Stabbing Suspect Arrested In Stafford, Victim Expected To Recover: Police
A man was arrested on Friday night after a stabbing in Stafford County. Authorities said they expect the victim to recover.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — One man stabbed another in Stafford County on Friday night, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Authorities said the victim suffered stab wounds to the chest and leg. The sheriff's office expects him to make a full recovery.
Deputies arrested 38-year-old Thomas Soden after the stabbing. He is charged with one count of malicious wounding. He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

If convicted, Soden could face up to 20 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
The stabbing occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Friday near the intersection of Naomi Road and Cobb Street. Investigators said the victim and the suspect knew each other.

Deputies found the suspect, who they later identified as Soden, on nearby Shaw Court.
Originally, authorities believed the victim's injuries were life-threatening. First responders took him to an area hospital for treatment.
