Stafford Power Outages: 30,000 Without Power On Wednesday
More than 30,000 customers in Stafford County were without power on Wednesday morning, according to electric providers.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Thousands of people were still without power in Stafford County on Wednesday morning, more than 48 hours after a winter storm began dumping several inches of snow on the region.
In total, 30,933 customers in Stafford County were still without power around 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Dominion Energy reported 28,000 powerless customers, while NOVEC had more than 2,000 customers without electricity on Wednesday. Poweroutage.us estimates that 51 percent of customers in Stafford County were still without power.
"With 390,000 customers losing power at some point during the storm, this is one of the 5 worst winter storms in our history," Dominion Energy said in a statement Tuesday."We encourage those in the hardest hit areas, including Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia and Richmond to prepare for the possibility of being without power for multiple days."

Some areas of Stafford County recorded up to 14 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Schools are still closed in Stafford County, but Stafford High School is now open as a 24-hour emergency shelter. The school can provide warmth, electricity, and Wi-Fi for people who have been negatively impacted by the storm.
