Stafford Schools Calendar 2022-23: First Day, Holidays, Key Dates

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Summer is coming to an end for students and teachers in Stafford County.

Students return to classrooms for the first day of school on Aug. 9 or Aug. 10, depending on their grade level.

Whether or not you and your children are looking forward to the upcoming school year, you will want to write down the dates in your calendar as soon as possible.

Here is the full list of dates to know for the 2022-23 school year:

• Aug. 9, 2022: First day of school for kindergarteners, sixth graders, and ninth graders
• Aug. 10, 2022: First day of school for all other grade levels.
• Sept. 2-5, 2022: Labor Day holiday break.
• Oct. 7, 2022: Teacher workday, no school for students.
• Oct. 10, 2022: Parent teacher conferences for all grade levels.
• Nov. 7, 2022: Professional development day, no school for students.
• Nov. 8, 2022: Election Day, no school for students and staff.
• Nov. 11, 2022: Veterans Day, no school for students and staff.
• Nov. 23-25, 2022: Thanksgiving break for students and staff.
• Dec. 21, 2022- Jan. 3, 2023: Winter break for students and staff.
• Jan. 4, 2023: Teacher workday, no school for students.
• Jan. 16, 2023: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, no school for students and staff.
• Feb. 17, 2023: Professional development day, no school for students.
• Feb. 20, 2023: Presidents' Day, no school for students and staff.
• March 10, 2023: Teacher workday, no school for students and staff.
• March 13-17, 2023: Spring break, no school for students and staff.
• April 7, 2023: Good Friday holiday, no school for students and staff.
