The victims remained in the car and pursued them before one jumped out and grabbed one of the suspects, who then whipped out a Taser and stunned the woman several times in the torso.

Both suspects escaped before police eventually found them two days later.

Afterward, Spotsylvania Sheriff Roger L. Harris released the following statement: "This is one example of why we offer the Safe Meeting Space, in front of the Public Safety Building (9119 Dean Ridings Lane).

"If anyone is not sure of who they are meeting for any transaction, they can always meet in front of our building, where you are under video surveillance at all times, by Sheriff’s personnel. Should any issue occur, our Deputies could respond immediately and there is a video record of the moment."
