Threat Prompted Evacuation At Dixon Smith Middle School: Police
Dixon Smith Middle School was evacuated on Tuesday morning after somebody threatened the school. Authorities have reopened the school.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Authorities evacuated Dixon Smith Middle School in Stafford County on Tuesday morning to investigate a threat. The Stafford County Sheriff's Office said the school has since reopened.
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received the threat around 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Several deputies responded to the school to investigate.
The access road to the school was shut down and some students were left waiting on buses in nearby parking lots.

"The school and surrounding area has been thoroughly checked and the school is now open. Thank you to everyone for your patience," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook. "Detectives are attempting to identify the caller."
