Passenger Dies After Being Struck By Tractor Trailer On I-95 In Stafford: Police
A man from Maryland died on Thursday after the tractor-trailer that he was travelling in struck him on I-95 in Stafford County.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A 39-year-old man from Maryland died on Thursday after he was struck by the tractor-trailer he was travelling in on Interstate 95 in Stafford County, according to Virginia State Police. The man, Brian Brown, had exited the vehicle's sleeper cab to check for damage after the tractor-trailer ran into debris from a previous crash.
The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. on Thursday, along the northbound lanes of I-95 at mile marker 141.
A 37-year-old woman from Maryland was driving the vehicle when it ran into debris on the road from a previous crash. The driver pulled onto the shoulder and exited the tractor-trailer to check for damage, according to the police report.

Brown, who was in the sleeper cab, also exited to check for damage. The driver didn't know that Brown left the vehicle, police said.
The driver got back into the vehicle and tried to reenter the travel lanes. The vehicle then struck Brown, authorities said. The driver stopped the vehicle when she realized what happened.

Brown died in the ambulance while he was being taken to the hospital. The driver was uninjured.
No charges have been filed in connection with the incident. Virginia State Police said they are still investigating.
