Update: Man Died In Compactor At Spotsylvania Recycling Center: Police
Authorities said a 28-year-old man died in an industrial compactor at Spotsylvania's Chancellor Convenience Center on Thursday morning.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — A 28-year-old man died in an accident involving an industrial compactor on Thursday morning at the Chancellor Convenience Center in Spotsylvania County, the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities identified the man as Brandon Michael Nutter. Nutter was hired by the county's Solid Waste Collections division as a heavy equipment manager two weeks ago on June 22.
The sheriff's office said the Chancellor recycling center would remain closed on Friday before reopening on Saturday morning.

The fatal accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, police said. When deputies and emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they found Nutter dead inside the industrial compactor.
Police detectives and investigators with the Virginia Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Department are working to determine what caused the accident.
