Valentine’s Day
God has created pairs and has painted love between them for their comfort.

Valentine’s Day is a day celebrated on 14th February every year when people send special gifts, cards, or flowers to those they love. Originally it was celebrated as a pagan holiday and the first Valentine’s Day was observed in the year 496. It links back to the time when Saint Valentine was murdered because of his faith on February 14th, 269 A.D. It is tied to the Roman festival called Lupercalia.
In accordance with the true Islamic teachings, we Ahmadi Muslims do not confine a day or two to celebrate the sacred relationship of love between spouses. We make or at least try to make every day heartwarming for both by respecting, loving, and caring for each other. God says in the Holy Qur’an, “And one of His signs is that He has created wives for you from among yourselves that you may find peace of mind in them, and He has put love and tenderness between you. In that surely are Signs for a people who reflect” (30:22). This verse tells us how God has created pairs and has painted love between them for their comfort. So celebration of this beautiful relationship of husband and wife needs to be carried out every day to make it even more delightful.
