Vandal Kicked, Damaged Statue Of Ohana The Otter Before Theft: Police
Authorities are looking for a man who kicked the display of Ohana the Otter on Friday before another man stole the statue an hour later.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A vandal kicked the statue of Ohana the Otter in downtown Fredericksburg on Friday, and knocked her off of her mount. The Fredericksburg Police Department said another person then stole the statue early on Saturday morning.
On Sunday, investigators said the statue was returned to police headquarters. Authorities identified the man who took Ohana as 23-year-old Gregory Rowson.
Rowson was charged with one count of grand larceny. He was released on an unsecured bond.

If convicted, Rowson could face up to 20 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
Investigators are still looking for the vandal who originally kicked Ohana and dislodged her from her spot in front of the James Monroe Museum on Charles Street. If criminally charged and convicted of vandalism, the suspect could face up to 1 year in prison.
