Vehicles Vandalized by Fire Extinguisher in Fredericksburg: Police

Nine vehicles were hit in the 1100 block of Kenmore Avenue either Sunday night or Monday morning, according to Fredericksburg Police,

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Ever wondered what it would be like to clean up the mess were someone to spray a fire extinguisher inside your vehicle? Several city residents have to wonder no more, according to Fredericksburg Police.

Monday morning around 9:30, a man reported that an unknown person discharged a fire extinguisher inside his unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Kenmore Avenue.

After a brief investigation, police found that eight other vehicles in the area also had been sprayed with a fire extinguisher either Sunday night or Monday morning, with no word whether it was the exterior or interior or both.

100 block Caroline Street, 1/16, 6:15 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

forced entry into his locked shed and stole his lawn mower and four-wheeler. Both items were

recovered on the property adjacent to the victims. Video surveillance shows the suspect is a

male. The investigation is ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Theft:

100 block Greenbrier Drive, 1/13, A City resident's vehicle was stolen from her apartment

complex's parking lot. The following day on January 14, her vehicle was located in Spotsylvania

County. A witness reported seeing two white males in their mid-twenties crash the vehicle into a

mailbox and walk away from the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

1100 block Preserve Lane, 1/14, 3:30 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

pried off all four handles and the passenger-side mirror of his vehicle. It does not appear entrance

was made into the vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Larceny:

Walmart, 1800 Carl D. Silver Parkway, 1/16, 9:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an

unknown female asked if she could use her cell phone. The resident gave the unknown female

her cell phone who proceeded to take off with it in a white Buick. The suspect is described a

young black female. The investigation is ongoing.

400 block Riverside Drive, 1/16, 9:00 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

stole her beach cruiser bicycle from her backyard. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

O Charley's, 1791 Carl D. Silver Parkway, 1/15, 9:00 p.m. A waitress reported that an unknown

person stole her Samsung S5 from the employee office. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Wawa, 1140 Carl D. Silver Parkway, 1/14, 9:00 p.m. A citizen reported that an unknown person

stole her wallet. Video surveillance shows the wallet fell out of the victim's jacket and an

unknown black male picked up the wallet and exited the store. The investigation is ongoing.

Funland, 1351 Central Park Boulevard, 1/14, 4:30 p.m. A group of juveniles reported that they

put their cell phones and wallets in a bag, placed it in the personal items area, and went to play

laser tag. When they finished playing the game approximately 30 minutes later, the bag was

gone. Video surveillance shows a black male wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, a black jacket, and a

black knit-hat took the bag. The investigation is ongoing.

Larceny - Theft from Motor Vehicle:

2600 block Cowan Boulevard, 1/16, 12:50 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

stole a blanket and approximately $2.00 in change from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or

witnesses at this time.

1200 block Dunes Street, 1/16, 12:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person stole

her apartment complex gate key from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this

time.

2500 block Belmont Terrace, 1/16, 12:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

stole approximately $15.00 in change from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

2500 block Belmont Terrace, 1/16, 7:30 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

stole her purse from her unlocked vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

2500 block Cowan Boulevard, 1/16, 4:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

stole his sunglasses, employee badge, and badge holder from his vehicle. No suspects or

witnesses at this time.

1400 block Hanover Street, 1/14, 3:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

stole her cell phone charger, ice scraper, and lotion from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at

this time.

1000 block Jefferson Davis Highway, 1/13, 2:00 p.m. A citizen reported that an unknown person

stole his Rock Island 1911 firearm from his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Vehicle Tampering:

2500 block Belmont Terrace, 1/16, 1:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

went through her vehicle. No items were missing. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

2600 block Cowan Boulevard, 1/16, 10:00 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person

went through her glove compartment. No items were missing from her vehicle. No suspects or

witnesses at this time.

Graffiti:

Embrey Power House, 1709 Caroline Street, 1/13, 1:00 p.m. A maintenance worker reported that

an unknown white female was spray painting the floor of the Embrey Power Plant. When he

approached the female, she left. The suspect is described as a white female, approximately 18 to

19 years old with blonde hair and was wearing a grey sweatshirt and jeans. The investigation is

ongoing.

Vandalism:

Medicorp , 2300 Fall Hill Avenue, 1/16, 3:15 p.m. A employee reported that an unknown white

male was skateboarding down three flights of stairs and damaging the railings. The suspect is

described as a white male in his early 20's with facial hair, medium-length hair and a pronounced

chin. The investigation is ongoing.

Hunan Garden, 209 William Street, 1/14, 11:00 a.m. The owner reported that an unknown person

shattered one of the window panes of the front restaurant window. No suspects or witnesses at

this time.
