Veterans Day 2017: Fredericksburg, Stafford Salutes
Veterans Day events will be held Friday in downtown Fredericksburg and Saturday at the Stafford County Armed Services Memorial.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Veterans Day events will be held Friday in downtown and Saturday at the Stafford County Armed Services Memorial, the latter at the Gordon Government Center, 1300 Courthouse Road. The Stafford event is from 10-11 a.m. while Fredericksbug's will have a variety of events throughout the day.
Here's a look at the downtown affair, where all events will be held rain or shine:
- 9-10:30 a.m. - Veterans’ Breakfast at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St.Free and open to all Veterans and their families.
- 9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Profile of Honors Exhibit at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St.Interactive exhibit which brings to life the state's integral role in both wars, highlighting stories of Virginians who served in both conflicts.
- 9 a.m.-4 p.m. - Profile of Honors Documenting Project at the Fredericksburg Area Museum, 907 Princess Anne St.Bring your own WWI and WWII-related photographs letters and papers to be scanned on-site for inclusion in the Virginia Profiles of Honor project.
- 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. - Visit Fredericksburg Area War Memorial located at George and Barton Streets. This memorial honors the area’s fallen heroes of the foreign wars of the 20th and 21st centuries. On-site volunteers from the Fredericksburg Area Veterans Council will be offering a history of the memorial and those in which it honors.
- 7:00pm - Exhibit Reception, “World Aflame: A Hometown in Two World Wars” at the Fredericksburg Area Museum, 907 Princess Anne St.
There will be a free courtesy shuttle between various locations. It'll run 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
