Virginia Tech 'Day of Remembrance' 10 Years Later

Virginia Tech marks the somber 10th-year anniversary of the mass shooting on campus that left 33 people dead, including the shooter.

BLACKSBURG, VA — Easter Sunday will dawn as something of a paradoxical paradigm for anyone even remotely connected to the mass shootings at Virginia Tech 10 years ago that left 33 people dead, including the shooter. And that's because Easter this year happens to fall on April 16, the day of the shootings — April 16, 2007. No resurrection here.

But the school carefully has crafted a series of events this weekend to commemorate this 10th anniversary of those who died at the hands of Seung Hui Cho, of Chantilly. There's a concert Friday, a run Saturday and a candle-lighting Sunday — all of which will have various offshoots that reference those whose lives literally were gunned down.
